Local Action
Hi folks
It is a while since I posted in this forum. I have however been enjoying the action in my area and would like to share some of the images.
Although relatively common the White Collared Kingfisher is more interesting with prey in the bill

I have wanted a good image of s Stork-billed Kingfisher for some time. It was on the same tree as the previous shot.

I like photographing Chestnut-headed Bee-eaters...they have lots of personality......and good coordination.

At one point the CHBEs were so active chasing bugs I waited for a blue-sky day and sat in the shade with the trusty 400mm lens that is good for flight shots. I managed to track a dive but did not see the bee although i heard the thwack when the bird hit it.

The Blue-thorated bee-eaters were active in a number of ways

Eagles and kites fly over regularly and the little bee-eaters have a good surveillance system

As well as bee-eaters there are plenty of raptors in the area. Here a Crested Serpent Eagle was on a lamp pole calling it's mate and it took off mid-conversation.

The white-throated Kingfisher was feeding a nest for some time then after the chicks fledged started tossing the food down it's own throat.

Thanks for the comments
No tripod with any shot....either shot from the car with a bean bag or in the case of the bee-eater....hand held.
Cheers
